Patrice Cherele Swygert best known as Cherele is the Aquarian born 90’s baby from Fort Myers, Florida who grew an appreciation for music at a young age. Her mother noticed and placed her in piano lessons by the age of 3. Despite her diverse taste, Hip Hop called to her at the tender age of 7 and by 9 she was already creating music of her own. A small town couldn’t hold her big dreams so she relocated to Miami in 2013 where she collaborated with producer LeMieuX for her first LP titled "Paradise Lost." The project debuted in April 2015 through FACT Mag in the UK and received rave reviews from major publications such as HotNewHipHop, Ashley Outrageous, and Respect Magazine. Cherele was even named one of Florida’s 5 Favorite Rising Stars by Pigeons and Planes. Not to mention she was nominated for 5 Mieux Magazine awards including Best Debut Project, Best Single, Best South Florida Artist, Best Female Artist, and Video Of The Year. In 2015.
Cherele had the opportunity to tour alongside Awful Record’s Lord Narf and Goth Money's Black Kray where she had her first taste of life on the road. In 2016, her single “vi$ions” off of her LP "Paradise Lost" was featured on HBO’s hit show Insecure , Season 1 Episode 6. Continuing the momentum, Cherele has released a series of singles and videos following up in 2017 with her new infectious single and visual "Yetti" earning her a spot on Green Label's Top 8 South Florida Artists That Will Make It Big In 2018 list. Her single "HALLUCINOGENIC" was then featured on the United Nations He For She campaign under the U.K. based Femme Culture label in early 2018. This is only the early stages of the star that is to emerge; the small town bred, big city spitter is transcending genres with her new direction. With recently released visuals in 2018 for singles “Basically” and “Zika” her playfully infectious sound sets the tone for the colorful visual representation that is Cherele. In September of 2018 HBO used her single “Meet Me Outside” in their season 3 final of Insecure, making her one of few artists to be used for the show’s critically acclaimed soundtrack twice! She followed that up with opening for Trina and Lil Wayne at Atlanta’s A3C festival in October of 2018. As she works on new music and prepares to premier her new project and visuals, there’s no telling how far Cherele will go, but you can be sure that there’s nothing slowing her down.
