About
Patrice Cherele Swygert (artist name: Cherele) is an American recording artist, producer, writer, and performer who knows no bounds. Born in Fort Myers, Florida, she first started writing her own music at the age of 9 which later led to her seriously pursuing my music career at the age of 15. After a few failed music group attempts and nearly dying in a terrible car accident on her way back to college at the age of 19 - she decided to drop out of school to actively follow her dream. She moved back to her hometown where she began creating buzz on the local scene and eventually selling out shows there. Wishing for more opportunities in a bigger city, she moved to Miami, Florida at the age of 23 with her producer Pete Rango. There, they created an album entitled "Paradise Lost" which premiered through FACT Magazine in April of 2015. This project took her to new heights with multiple media outlets such as Hot New Hip Hop, Ashley Outrageous, and Pigeons and Planes naming her Florida's top talent. The album has received over 250k plays on her Soundcloud and over 5k views on YouTube of her leading music video “Vi$ions”. She was consistently booked for shows and events around Florida and was a part of a 5 city tour with members of Awful Records that stretched from Miami to Atlanta. Gaining more fans and respect from peers in her region, she decided she wanted to launch from a bigger platform that would enable her to reach national and international levels. She then transitioned to Atlanta, Georgia at the end of 2015. Since then she has opened for prestigious acts such as Doja Cat, Trina, Kari Faux, Chynna; has been booked for A3C Festival, Rolling Loud, and Tampa Beat Weekend which she helped sell over 2,000 tickets. She took it back home in the summer of 2019 where she headlined her first show in her hometown of Fort Myers, followed by a headlining show in Miami which sold out. Her hit song "Vi$ions" off of her LP Paradise Lost was chosen by HBO's leading comedy Insecure to be played in their first season followed by her 2nd hit single "Meet Me Outside" produced by herself, which was chosen to also appear in HBO's Insecure Season 2 finale. Cherele kept the ball rolling and released a mixtape titled “Give ‘Em Hell” in November of 2019 - which showcased her rapper skill-set, reminiscent of Lil Wayne. The short but sweet tape was over various instrumentals which Cherele made all her own.
She released another smash single "KIKI" produced by Pete Rango Feb of 2021 through United Masters and it has already received over 100k plays on Spotify alone. This was shortly followed by Citrus Rap naming her the top 16 Rappers in all of South Florida. She ended the year with a bang, with the WNBA using her single “KIKI” as well as some lyrics from the song as a part for heir first Legendary NFT release titled “In Her Bag”. Back to back she then partnered with Beats By Dre for their Tik Tok Influencer Campaign with KIKI as the song to accompany the promo.
Cherele followed this up with another banger “REAL GOOD” at the top of 2022, gaining over 70k plays on Spotify in a few months. The REAL GOOD video creatively directed by herself, was a colorful display of the infectious single, garnering 20k+ views in a month on YouTube.
She has recently begun venturing into media and started her own comedy/game show on Twitch and YouTube titled “Left On Read With Cherele” which is written and performed by herself, with her hinting at Season 2 happening sometime this year.
Cherele has recently been selected to perform at the World's Biggest Music Festival "Rolling Loud" in Miami last year July 22-24th 2022.
Her 2nd album Nostalgia Is Dead released shortly after including hit songs “REAL GOOD” and “HOL’ UP” which continues to gain momentum.
